Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Dargavel Web ("we", "us", "our") collects when you contact us or submit an enquiry, why we collect it, and your rights over it. We are a website design service based in Glasgow, Scotland, and we act as the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

We only collect the details you choose to give us when you enquire — through a form on this website, through a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) lead form connected to our adverts, or when you message us directly. That typically includes:

We do not collect payment card details on this website. We do not knowingly collect any special category data (such as health, ethnicity or political views), and we ask that you don't send us any.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry, prepare a free website mockup, and — if you go ahead — design and deliver your website. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests (responding to a request you made and running our business), and where you submit an enquiry, your consent to us contacting you about it. You can withdraw consent at any time by telling us to stop.

Adverts and lead forms

Some enquiries reach us through lead forms shown inside Facebook and Instagram, run through Meta's advertising tools. When you submit one of those forms, Meta passes your responses to us. Meta's own handling of your data is covered by Meta's Privacy Policy. We use this data only to contact you about your enquiry.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. We only use a small number of trusted services to run the business, which may process your data on our behalf:

We may also disclose data if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't turn into a project, we keep your details for up to 12 months in case you get back in touch, then delete them. If we do work together, we keep what we need for our business and tax records for as long as the law requires (typically up to 6 years).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to: show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to us using it. To exercise any of these, just email us. We'll respond within one month.

Cookies

This website doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. If you reached us from a Facebook or Instagram advert, Meta may use cookies as described in their policy.

Contact
